DENTAL IMPLANTS
Dental implants are reliable and durable teeth restoration options that aid in maintaining and strengthening bone structure, allow patients to chew healthy foods, and offer patients the courage to smile. At Ascend Dental Design, patients receive dental implants from professional and experienced dentists who use state-of-the-art dental techniques and advanced equipment.
What Are Dental Implants?
The implants are little titanium posts that are surgically implanted into the jawbone where teeth are lacking. The bone fuses with titanium, forming a solid basis for artificial teeth. The implant is then linked to little posts that protrude through the gums. These posts serve as secure anchors for dental implants. Implants can help to preserve facial shape by reducing bone degradation caused by tooth loss.
What are the Benefits of Dental Implants?
Dental implants are tooth-restoration solutions that offer several life-changing benefits to the patients, including:
- In the course of the dental implant process, the implant fuses with the patient’s surrounding jaw bone and stabilizes or preserves it, preventing further bone loss.
- Replacing missing teeth with implants can help preserve your overall oral and dental health.
- Implants can significantly boost your self-esteem while also acting as your natural tooth/teeth.
- They look and feel like natural teeth, can increase your confidence, are long-lasting, and contribute to your overall dental health.
- When compared to dentures, dental implants allow you to brush, floss, eat, drink, and sleep while they are in place.
- They also help you with your voice, comfort, and chewing abilities.

HOW DOES THE PROCESS WORK?
If there is still a tooth or teeth in the affected area, they are first removed. Bone grafting material is placed to aid in healing the area and maintaining as much of the socket as possible. This area is allowed to heal and left undisturbed for about 3 months. During this time, you can have a temporary restoration (crown, partial, or denture) to fill in the space while the area heals, if you’d like.
Next, implants are placed into the bone, below the gum line. The implant(s) will remain beneath the surface of the gums for another 3 months, gradually bonding with the jawbone. You can continue to wear your temporary restoration, if you have one.
After sufficient healing takes place and your implant(s) is well-integrated, the dentist will design your final prosthetic to attach to the implant(s) and work (almost) as well as your natural teeth do!
